feedbacks about my site

Nov 17, 2013

Hypothesis: 1-placing learner in a session where he fits in based on his personality can influence on his learning                           experience.

2- Design and activities of the session can be used based on a new model called GSR to stimulate           learners to the opposite of their personality if it’s needed. (Introversion to extroversion)

This is the first version of my site (modeled on introvert shy people)

http://thelearningroad.comeze.com/

i need your feedbacks about my idea and my first version of the site

Saleh...

From your other thread, I wished you well - which I do, however, I am not sure what funding, if any, you have available to you.

I think you need to try and get some professional help here.

You have too many fonts, too many styles of graphics, and sentences that do not make sense. Questions need to end with a "?".

You have completely lost the aspect ratio in some of the photographs, and do you have permission to use the images?

I appreciate English is not your first language but you need some help here, both with content and style - both of which need a lot of work before they are ready for release.

Hi Saleh,

I appreciate your work. Your site seems good with graphics supporting the text. But as Bruce said I am afraid that you have permissions to use the images. As far as design of the session, you first start with a personality trait to select from a list that a user feels fits to him/her. Then engage the user as per their selection, and at last how to overcome their shortcomings.

Hi thx for your answer i really appreciate it

i was thinking that learners must take a personality survey and based on its result the user will redirected to the session where he fits in.

sec honestly i dont have any permissions because i just found pictures in a public source (google) and i didnt use illegal actions to get it. is that wrong? thx again

Saleh,

This will be my last post on this topic.

I think you are completely out of your depth here.

There are very few images that are "free" to use. Just because Google shows them, it does not mean you can use them on a public website.

Your site is confused, as is your psychological premise.

Sorry - but I do not know what else to say. I have tried to offer advice, but I just feel that you need to take some professional advise now, from psychology peers and from a website designer.

You should publish a "first version" for comment only when you believe it is actually something that is close, not when you want to see how far away from the mark it is.

I usually try and offer constructive advice as and where I can, however, I really urge you to go and re-think this whole premise, and your delivery. Sorry, but that's all I can now offer. Maybe I am just saying what everyone else if thinking.

Frankly - if I were one of your "shy" subjects, I would avoid this site, I see nothing here of value to help anyone.

Sorry.

Hi Saleh,

Bruce is right! Please do not take this offensive. He is right that you cannot use images just because google threw up the results for your query. I would suggest you to take services of website designer.

Okay, while I can totally understand and agree with the comments above I do feel some are rookie mistakes. It's a bit like looking at a 1997 website...

  • Yes your fonts are a mess but stick to a header and body font and that will clean up your site in a big way.
  • Images, NEVER change proportions to fit your design. Crop or find another one that fits the design. Google images are NOT for free but there are sites that have free images. Just Google for 'copyright free images' or 'royalty free images' and you'll find sites like http://www.freedigitalphotos.net/ that might offer what you need.
  • There is way to much blinking and scrolling. Very 1997, in that time we discovered that we could, so we did... not anymore. Keep it clean.
  • The embedded document looks nasty, it just does... And you can hardly call it a course. It's like saying a book is a course. I wouldn't go further than calling it a 'learning object' or something like that. I'd probably make it a download. That way people can print it, read in on their monitor on their preffered size or open it in iBooks on their iPad.
  • Last... your buttons... they're more like bulletpoints. You should really create a button if you want people to get these are buttons.

These are a few basic things that will take out the rookie mistakes. Again, I agree with Beth and Bruce, but if you have no budget and no further help these are a few pointers for major improvements.

Hi jeff thx for all your remarks i will take them under consideration for sure, all i want to say is it just took me one week to make that website done and it is  a trial version where i focused more on putting shy learners in an environment where they fits in  using design and activities of the session  to stimulate them while having e-learning experience so i can compare results and prove or deny my hypothesis that was my idea in the first place and for sure it wasnt ready for lunch that's why i asked ur professionnel advices so i can upgrade the trial  version i already have.

again thank you all for ur comments it really means alot to me

Hi Saleh,

Thanks a lot for your positive response. I know you have put in so much effort to get your website live. As Jeff has jotted down all things in detail and that is really going to help you a lot. Give these a try I am sure you will come with a great site.

Regards

Beth

i already know that my friend :
an introvert is not simply a person who is shy. In fact, being shy has little to do with being an introvert! Shyness has an element of apprehension, nervousness and anxiety, and while an introvert may also be shy, introversion itself is not shyness. Basically, an introvert is a person who is energized by being alone and whose energy is drained by being around other people.
