Hello! I built a course on RISE that includes an embedded 2 hour video (.mp4 -- required education for license renewal) however when I exported the file as a SCORM for uploading to LMS, we are getting a message stating it is too large.
Any advice?
P.S- I would attach it on here, however the max limit is also reached >< HELP!
You might be able to adjust the file size limit in your LMS - ask your LMS admin to see if this is possible.
Also, some LMS limit the size that can be uploaded via the system's file manager. Maybe you could try uploading manually using FTP or something like that.
My only concern would be that even if you are successful in uploading the file you may have some performance issues if you don't use a streaming service for the video as Garth suggests.
Thanks all. I contacted our admins to see if we can have the video on Vimeo; currently it is housed in our internal system so I'll need permission. I'm curious about the increasing the LMS limit size!
Bare in mind that you can keep your file completely private in Vimeo, and this will give you the best performance possible. I use both solutions. one for an internal LMS that we sell on to govt agencies, and the other for our web-hosted LMS. Be prepared to up your resources on the server if you are serving out 2-hour videos en mass.
Thank you all so much!!! I am going to tr a few of these ideas out. Right now we have been able to reduce the size on the embedding end *fingers crossed* it is enough!

put the video file on Vimeo, and use video embedded component in rise.

Does it have to be all on one video? Perhaps you could clip it into several videos?
