Thanks for sharing a copy of your file here. I opened it up and saw 4 slides, the first 2 with content, and the last 2 blank. I was able to open and navigate between the slides and conduct the preview as well. I also published it and uploaded it to Articulate Review so that you could take a look here. That one also advances for me within Chrome as the browser.
So perhaps you could share a bit more information about when and where you're seeing the freezing? Any steps to help me replicate it, or even to do a quick screen recording would be ideal?
At least it is working somewhere. ;) Could you please repost the link where I can find it?
Strangely enough I also use Chrome. It always freezes when I want to leave slide two. It will move to slide 3, but load forever. I have a picture attached.
funnily enough the story you published worked once for me. Now I have got the same issue again. This happens in Chrome and IE. I have attached a clip of what is happening.
Thanks for the video. I took a look again at your file you shared, and slide 3 is blank for me, and the only triggers are to jump to the next slide when the user clicks the next button. Slide 4 is also blank with the same type of triggers, so I'm just not sure what you'd expect to see loading there - or is it just that you don't want to see the spinning circle because it's supposed to be blank? The latter would make sense and I can reach out to my team about that behavior, but I just want to ensure I'm clear on what you're expecting to happen first!
Your problem with the slide has nothing to do with the slide itself, it is the markers on the slide before that are causing the problem.
I deleted slide two entirely and then the error on slide three didn't occur. I reinserted slide two and deleted the markers, changed the triggers to show the layers when the user hovers over the pictures rather than the markers and that prevented the problem from slide three concurring.
Not sure what you want to do going forward but it is definitely the markers on slide two causing your issue on slide three.
Thanks Chris for the assist - and thanks Joerg for clarifying. I hadn't seen the freeze circle the first few times, and again wasn't sure what I was looking for, so that's helpful!
As for the why, it's also worth looking into the items here about working on local project files as working off a network/shared drive is known to cause odd behavior that can carry over into the published output.
Please let us know if you need anything other assistance!
Hi all, we have the very same problem and I'd managed to identify that it was the markers that were causing the issue. Absolutely nothing has changed in the file at all and the only thing we have done is upgrade our LMS from Totara 2.6 to 2.9. It hasn't happened in every project but in those that have stopped working, it's the slides with markers that are causing the problem.
I've been deleting the markers and re-creating them and that seems to have worked but any better/quicker ideas? Any risk of this happening again or just 'one of those things'?
Thanks for sharing that Tracey - I'm wondering what also changed on Totara's side? Did anything change in terms of browser support too - or needing Flash vs. HTML5? Before you strip out all the markers have you looked at testing in SCORM Cloud? It's an industry standard for LMS testing and you could just upload the zip file there and see how it behaves. That'll be some good additional information we can use to figure out where the issue is!
Thanks for testing that out Tracey - and yes, we'll want to see the file now, so if you could share it with our Support Engineers they'll be able to dig in.
I have encountered this issue recently on any slide that contains more than TWO markers. I currently have a ticket with a support engineer on this. But I thought I would share my experience with this.

Thank you for the speedy reply.

Hi Joerg,
So when I opened your .story file, slide 3 was blank - so I'm not sure that my link will help but here is where it's hosted on Review.

Hi Ashley,
It does not matter if slide 3 has got content or not. As soon as I navigate onto it the slide freezes and I cannot navigate backwards or forwards.
It originally had content and it always froze, so I deleted the content to eliminate that as a potential reason.
I just would like to find out what the issue is as this could potentially happen to customers that take part in the course.
Thank you for your help with this.

Perfect. Thank you very much Chris!

Thanks Ashley, just given it a go in the Cloud and still experiencing the same issue. What should I do next - submit a case to Articulate?
Kindest regards.
Tracey
