Friendly eLearning Design Competition

Apr 30, 2013

After reading a couple of posts about not having a good portfolio (or good enough) due to proprietary rights and what-not I, got this idea (fueled by Nyquil and Coffee) that maybe we could start a eLearning design competition among ourselves. I would like to base it off something similar to 11 Second Club competitions.

 We can set up some guidelines and restrictions like slide count and/or length. Also provide a scenario/objective/assets. It doesn't have to be realistic. It is meant to just be fun and challenge our creativity.

I'll be creating another post titled Community Challenge #1 Entries. I was going to wait till the beginning of the month, but I could do it sooner. You could post your WIP here if you would like critiques or comments.

As far as voting, that still something that hasn't been worked out yet. I was wondering if somebody knows an outside resource we may be able to use?  It's going to take a couple of entries for all the kinks like this one to be worked out.

Hi Jerson, I think you already created that post  but I was thinking more of a place like tempshare (only a little more permanent) to upload the published output. I sometimes use dropbox or for this but it is not the best solution because if I remove the file then the link in the post is broken.

As for the voting, we might be able to use something like survey monkey.

@Nancy,

I posted the Community Challenge #1 - Inspiration to announce the first challenge. This is where you can ask questions, make comments, or post WIPs (I mistakenly said you can post him here in my earlier post). I will create another  post - Community Challenge #1 - Entries,  where users can post links to their entries. I'll send an email to the staff about how we can upload our files. They said they might have a couple of ideas last time I spoke with them.

I looked at Survey Monkey and it looks like it might work for what we need. I'll do some testing with it and check it out in depth.
