Fundamentals of Storyboarding?

Hi everyone, I am very new to develop an eLearning course and I think one of the most difficult part of content creating is the storyboarding. I mean delivering content in a meaningful and engaging way to learner with a story which increase the probability of recalling topics. Is there any source kind a handbook which explain the theory of storyboarding (I'm not implying using a tool such as articulate or captivate).
