Game board template.

Sep 06, 2017

Hello Nicole,

I downloaded one of your game board templates and I love it. I've used it a couple of times modifying the information and some graphics without any issues. However, this time I have a problem with the board game slide. When I run it it opens in one of the layers not on the base layer. I've checked and rechecked all the triggers and I can´t fix it. :(

Let me attach my project and if you could please take a look at it I'll appreciate it very much.

It's in Spanish, but all the interface is in English,

Thanks a lot,

Tannia.

Hi there Tannia!

Thank you for posting your question here in the forums... and I am glad that you've been using my templates without issue and it's working out well for you overall so far!!

Also.. I am sorry to hear about this issue you've run into! I've opened up the .story file you provided to take a closer look... thanks for sharing that it makes it much easier to diagnose the issue when i can look at the file.

It is a bit more difficult to comprehend exactly what I'm looking at when the content is in another language hahaha but i think I see the problem.. when you launch the "tablero de juego" screen it immediately launches the "cp pregunta 2" layer... and you don't want that to happen right away.

I think what's causing that to happen is some issues with your ContadorPreguntas variable. The value of that variable is what is controlling when the layers appear... here's what you need to do to fix this...

Open up  your Variables panel and change the default value of "ContadorPreguntas" from "1" to "0"

Then, go into  your triggers panel and for the trigger that says

Show layer "cp pregunta 1 - copy" when the timeline starts if ContadorPreguntas is equal to 0.00

change the layer "cp pregunta 1 - copy" to layer "Cp inicio"

and then it should work as intended! It's because your default value of your variable was set to "1" before, and you really want it to start at 0 not 1... so that the first trigger that shows the "inicio" layer can be shown first... Hope this helps!
