Gamified eLearning sample course in Articulate Storyline 360
Once Adobe Flash was the authoring tool to develop graphically rich user interface and customized functionalities in the course. We were working on a project which required gamified approach. When compared multiple tools, we found Articulate Storyline to be the most appropriate tool. The list of features which client was expecting, we were able to design them in Storyline. Most importantly we didn’t get the need to include JavaScript which show how robust Storyline 360 is.
The course includes following intuitive features/elements in our sample that proliferates the learners’ engagement.
Graphically-Rich User Interface:
Incorporated a real-time environment in the gaming zone that will immerse the learner in a fun filled zone and increases the knowledge retention.
Branching:
There is a branching slide in which it allows you to take the Lesson Zone or Game Zone. Learners can directly enter the game zone if they feel they know the subject very well.
Iconic representation:
As opposed to the regular Interactivities in this course, we have presented the options in an iconic format so as to give the learners a real-time experience.
Personalized Course:
Before going into the course user must enter their name so as to personalize the course.
Social Media Sharing:
User can share the course completion status in the social media platforms, Facebook and Twitter.
Attempts:
The user will have two attempts for each question to answer it correctly.
Let’s see the gamifying elements embedded in the course:
Rank: Allows the user to achieve rank ranging from 1 to 8 based on the performance.
Badge: Awards a related color badge upon completion of the course.
Score: Attain points with respect to answering the questions.
Timer: Allows user to attempt the question within the stipulated time.
You can access the course here and suggest us on any other gamifying elements that can be included in the course.

We’re you able to share the storyline file so we can look at the mechanics?
Brill! I would love to play around with the .story file too. We are currently making a gamified course and trying to score based on the time it takes to complete the question and we're struggling to work it out!
Nice use of the tools features.
any chance the story file can be shared now?
