Heart animation in Storyline

It's been a while since I've shared anything on our community forum. I set this  as a challenge in a two day training workshop that starts with PowerPoint and then hops over to Storyline.

This flat animation is a breeze to do in PowerPoint for two reasons. (i) PP has "spin" animation where you can actually specify the degrees of revolution, SL does not. (ii) PP allows for "fill colour" animation, once again SL does not. Yet. 

I employed layers to circumvent the 1/4 revolution spin but am not entirely happy with the result. Only after completing it, I realised that if SL forces me to revolve 90 degrees, then perhaps I should have started the entire animation 90 degrees anticlockwise to begin with. Note to self for my next training workshop.
