Help with Exit Animation

Jun 23, 2017

Hi All

Is there anyone who can help with a small bump I have hit. I am trying to get a text box to fade out when shown.

The text box is hidden at the start and I then have a trigger to change to Normal if Variable X is set to true. The text box shows but the exit animation does not play.

Hey Adam!

Sorry to hear you've run into this issue. I recorded a quick Peek tutorial to show you why the issue is happening and what you can do to fix it. It will require 2 triggers. Hope this is helpful!

So in your case you would want to "Resume the timeline when the variable changes".

Hi Nicole

Thank you for the lovely video however I'm still not able to get it to work. I have provided a bit more detail as to what is happening below.

  • Variable starts as False,
  • Variable changes to True when timeline starts on Base slide.
  • Text box appears and fades in on base slide if variable = True
  • Click on Next shows slide layer "Fade Out"
  • Text box on base slide becomes hidden again when time line starts on layer
  • Same text box has been copied into the layer and starts as hidden
  • If variable = True then change state of text box from hidden to normal
  • Then Fade out animation needs to play when text box = normal

Everything is working up until the last point. On the Fade out Slide there is no buttons etc as it runs off the time line and jumps to next slide when timeline ends.

Below is a screenshot of the slide triggers and layer triggers.
