Help with Quiz

Nov 03, 2017

Hello,

I'm sure this has been asked, but I can't seem to find the solution. I have built a quiz and for each question, if you answer incorrectly, you get the option to try again. When you click try again, the question defaults to initial state. My problem is that the scoring at the end on the results page is crazy. Help... ;)

What do you mean by this? There have been a few posts about scores doubling and Articulate are aware of that - is that your issue.

Also, check the revisit options on your quiz slides to see what it is set to

Might be helpful if you could share your .story file.

Eric,

Yes, you have it. I'm trying to use only one quiz. I read that I may have to have multiple quizzes. I am attaching the files for you take a look at. I really one to have only one quiz, but be able to report through the LMS how they answer the question the first time.

Hi Rhona,

I believe your issue is in your question settings. You have given the user the option to Try Again, by modifying the Incorrect layer. However your question settings show the user only gets 1 attempt at answering the question. I would change this to unlimited, this will give you the TRY AGAIN layer, which is what I would use for the Try Again message. The Try Again layer should reset the score results for the question on every attempt.

Eric,

If you don't mind, can I ask you another question. Do you know, since the quiz has unlimited attempts, does an LMS report how a user answers each time, or just the final answer? Does that question make sense? Basically what I want to be able to report out on is how they answer the question not necessarily their score. Because ultimately they will get 100% anyway.

The course will only report the final response. If you are wanting to allow them to answer any way they choose, so you can focus your data on the answer given, you could use a survey instead of a quiz, and still use triggers and layers to provide correct/incorrect feedback. But your course would not report a pass/fail to your LMS.
