Hover state shows shape with text underneath the base slide image

Jun 24, 2019

Hi All

I need some help please.

I have a slide with four images. On hover the image displays a shape with text. This shape covers another image on the base layer. The problem is that for two images this works fine, but the other two display the shape with the text underneath the base layer image. The settings are all identical and I can't figure out what it is that's wrong.

I've attached the file...

Thanks in advance for your help!

Hi Jenny,

The reason you are having this problem is because Picture 15 and Picture 17 are higher up in the object list than Picture 14 and Picture 16 on your base layer. As a result, even although you have created a hover state for Picture 14, for example, Picture 15 will still sit on top of it and hide your text.

To get round this, I have created a new state, called Black, for Picture 15 and Picture 17, which cause the images to temporarily disappear when the mouse hovers over Picture 14 and Picture 16 respectively. Note that the Hidden state will not work here as it will not automatically restore  to Normal when the mouse leaves the picture.

Now your text is clearly visible.
