How to allow students to revisit already completed lessons from the side menu...

Jan 12, 2015

Dear All,

I hope you are having a good start of the week!

I´m doing some testing of a course that I created with storyline, and one of my testers asked me to add a feature in the course that I don´t know how to add...

In the course the chapters are programmed so that the slides need to be completed in chronological order, to be able to complete the chapter successfully. Also, the chapters need to completed in chronological order.

I would, however, want that the students could revisit one of the chapters they already completed, without having to go through the entire chapter slide by slide...-> How can I program the course so that when the student revisits a chapter they already have completed, they can simply select the slide they want to review from the side Menu, without having to go through all the slides...?

I really appreciate your help, thanks in advance!!

Carolina

Hi Carolina!

Thanks for posting your question here in the forums.

Sounds like you should be able to achieve what you need by setting the Player Menu to have "Restricted" navigation. This means the content is locked until they've progressed through it. but once the learner has seen or visited something, they can go back and forth through it and revisit that content.

Here's a tutorial to set it up: Customizing The Player Menu (that part is under the Navigation heading). Hope this helps! Report back with any other questions. Thanks!
