How to create a drag & drop interaction from scratch?

Sep 05, 2017

Hi there

I attached an screenshot out of my latest articulate project. If open, you see on the left side a numbered flow chart grid. On the left side you see the activities, that must be dragged by the learners and dropped into the grid on the left and onto the correct numbered field.

After having wasted about an hour searching for a video turorial, I dare to ask you if you could deviate me to a post or tutorial that would explain how to build that.

Thanks in advance and best regards
Roland

Roland: I could certainly could do a tutorial for you (I assume you want to build in Storyline), but it wouldn't be as good as Articulate VP Tom Kuhlmann, who rocks harder than a double bill of Yngwie Malmsteen and the Scorpions circa 1984. Headband optional.  Here's the link.

Storyline Drag and Drop Tutorial

Hi Daniel

Thanks for your reply and the link. I stumbled over this tutorial myself and watched it closely. Yet I was hoping, to find a …. more generic one.  But I guess that the tutorial shows all one needs to now for a drag'n'drop interaction and i’ll have to abstract it to my needs. Guess I'll have to put more thinking into it :-).

Yes, I want to build it in storyline, the 360 Version. Is it the same procedure as in the turorial? Because this says “article valid for Storyline 2”.

This leads me to follow up questions like: Does that mean that I’ll have to set two states, to each of the 9 fields on the left hand side? State one with the empty field, state two with the correct activity from the right hand side? And should I then set a new layer for each activity?

Thx in advance and best regards

Roland
