Is there any issues or information from Articulate regarding the recent Internet Explorer bug & recent Department of Homeland Security warning? They state there are vulnerabilities with sites that use IE and Flash files. Articulate runs Flash doesn't it? What should we do/look out for. There needs to be info from ARticulate. Thank you.
It's true that Articulate Storyline, and other Articulate products make use of Flash, but to the best of my knowledge, Articulate are not affiliated with Adobe or Microsoft. Nor, to the best of my knowledge, are any Articulate programs directly impacted by the recently disclosed Internet Explorer vulnerabilities.
If you use Internet Explorer to run Flash e-learning content that was created in an Articulate program, I recommend you - at least temporarily - switch to another browser, such as Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox.
Alternatively, you may wish to use one or more of Microsoft's suggested protection methods (See links at bottom of post)
While Articulate could put out an 'FYI'-style blog post, it's really up to computer users to keep informed on any security issues with the products and services they use alongside Articulate software.
More information on the Internet Explorer vulnerability can be found using the following links:
My employer disabled the Flash plugin based on this security threat and that stopped Storyline from running in the LMS. The IT department is reportedly going to apply the Microsoft patch tonight so that Flash can be turned on tomorrow. So you may want to check the Microsoft site for the patch.
