Joining the community

Nov 14, 2011

Hi everybody,

I attended an Articulate workshop this past weekend in LA and met Tom & David. David encouraged me to jump into the forums and just say hi to everybody, so that's what I'm doing.

I discovered that I can't consider myself a novice anymore. I've used Articulate for about a year now. And thanks to the community (forums, blogs, & tutorials) I know a lot more than I realized. So now it's my turn to start contributing. I plan to participate in the community more from now on.

Thanks for the warm welcome everybody.

@Jeannette: I've had the opportunity to design all sorts of courses for various departments in our company: introducting new products and services to Sales and Customer Care; compliance (HIPAA, CPNI, PCI) for corporate employees, behavioral interviewing for hiring managers; software training for IT; and how to navigate web-based services for new hires.

One of my favorite parts about Articulate is incorporating animation throughout the course, not just for the sake of animation, but so that the finished product flows like a movie. Discovering the "slide view" for Quizmaker and Engage was also a big deal for me. I do my own narration so I'm also a big fan of the audio editor. This is really handy when I get edits from SME's and managers post-production who want me to add a sentence (or just a word) in the middle of a slide's narration.

I'm looking forward to sharing some of my work once I can scrub out company info and reduce the courses from 30 minutes to about 5.
