keeping a forms State across slides

Oct 11, 2016

Hi, I am working building a "menu" that stays open or closed across slides, depending on if it's opened or closed from a previous slide.  I feel like I am close to a solution.  I have a shape that stays in an "open" state (or closed state) depending if my variable is true or false at the start of timeline of the slide.  So my shape is closed state (as a little rectangle) and opened state (as a big rectangle), but when my state is closed from one slide to the next , the shape seems to jump around (like is see the big shape for a micro second) and it's not seamless.

Is there another way to achieve this effect?

Hi Mariane, if you want to control menu to be opened/closed by variables, you should stick on that. But looking into your triggers, you actually control it by many different ways (states, click on object, variables). I won't say that's wrong but it will make things complicated and will confuse you when tiggers contradict each other.

To simply it, I suggest to create a menu in a layer of  Master slide. All you need is to show/hide the menu layer base on the T/F variable you create. You can take a look on the example which I add in your file.
