Learndash LMS and Articulate

Mar 09, 2020

Hi! My company is heading into E-Learning production and I would like to hear from Articulate users how well the integration with LearndashLMS (the Wordpress plugin) works with Rise and Storyline and scorm-files in general. We have a standard, old fashioned LMS right now that we hope to be able to phase out. We want to be able to produce course scorm files in Articulate and market them on our home page, so that people can look around and click on the course that they want to buy and pay in a simple way. What are your thoughts on Learndash? Is it possible to track progress and send automatic e-mail reminders and all features that "regular" LMS:s can do? Pros and cons, is there anything that You haven't been able to achieve in Learndash that You need another LMS for? We LOVE Articulate 360 and REALLY want to be able to integrate it in our courses in all its glory!

Hello,

Here are some answers.

When it comes to SCORM and reporting:

You will need additional add-ons:

https://www.learndash.com/support/docs/reporting/scorm-xapi/

You need something to track activities:

Can I sell?

Learndash can integrate with woocommerce so you can sell:

and more

Email communication notifications:

Overall it is good but takes time to configure whole setup.

LearnDash can be a perfect choice for all your requirements. It has lots of integration with different plugins that can handle all your things.

As you might know, it does not support xAPI or SCORM Content out of the box. To overcome this issue LearnDash made a tight integration with GrassBlade xAPI Companion plugin and GrassBlade LRS.

It solves articulate content management on WordPress and reporting problems. The score of Articulate Storyline or Rise 360 content (xAPI or SCORM Content) is passed to native LearnDash reports. So, you can show this score in certificates and emails.

Thank You for your replies, guys! Sounds promising! I guess we need to find a solution to host our scorm files, how have You solved that part? Do You somehow upload these to Learndash? Or your own web page? Will our web page be very slow if we host large scorm-files there...? How do people do that...? Very grateful for your input...

As I already mentioned, GrassBlade xAPI companion can handle all the Articulate Content management on WordPress. It means you can upload the exported .zip content files (HTML5, xAPI, SCORM package) on WordPress and add it on LearnDash lessons, topics and quiz pages.

It also allows adding content uploaded on hosting servers like AWS. Means first you have to add content URL in GrassBlade xAPI Companion and the add the xAPI Content on LearnDash. It is required for reporting purpose.

Demo LearnDash Course with Articulate Content: https://demo.nextsoftwaresolutions.com/courses/advanced-completion-behaviour/

This demo LearnDash Course contains a few lessons having Articulate Content (xAPI). You can try it.

Also, you can test your content on this demo site. Check the homepage, it has login details for all the users. Also, you can create a user account to test it as a learner.

I think it will solve your major problem of uploading and managing content on WordPress. Uploading content on another server is also a good idea if want to distribute the load.
