Learner progress tracking and notes with WordPress

Dec 04, 2011

I am not an affiliate - and the link is not an affiliate link - but I have recently purchased this WordPress Plugin called WP Notepad. Its potential application for learning will be obvious when you see it.

It does not need a membership site to work .. it can be used independently with any page or post.

Essentially learners can track their progress and make personal notes on the content that can only be seen by the learner and site administrator. For example, the student can take notes whilst watching a video or, if distracted, make a note of his viewing time so that, when he returns, he can start from where he left off. In addition to personal notes, it could be used to submit assignment responses or to communicate with the administrator (teacher) on a one to one basis straight from the site and without email in a way that is not visible to other readers. It is also capable (with very simple coding) of producing text with fields completed by answering questions.

What ways do you think this tool could be used in the learning environment?
