Learning analytics / in-depth activity reporting

Aug 15, 2019

Hello,

I have recently published a course onto Moodle. The course does not contain a quiz therefore the completion tracking (completed/incomplete) is based on a user clicking reaching the end of course slide.

Ideally I would like to see what slides a visits/ reaches before dis-engaging and existing the module. Unfortunately Moodle does not offer this capability and I am only able to run very basic analytics on the time spent within the course and whether users have completed or not. Can you advice me on how I can add get such rich data ?

Hi Rachael,

For in-depth tracking, you need to export your content in xAPI standard. Also, you have to connect moodle with an LRS (Learning Record Store). You can try GrassBlade LRS, it is easy to use and cost-effective.

The xAPI Content will send all the reporting data to LRS, and you will be able to check all the progress details. Also, you can see all the slides viewed by users.

I hope this should help, if you have some other questions you can ask.

Regards,
