LMS and Articulate Storyline Capabilities

Nov 09, 2015

Hello,

I'm relatively new to Articulate Storyline and LMS so I just had a question regarding what is feasible with assessments.

As part of a project I'm working on there is a need to run through a scenario with the users ideally being able to input text to answer a specific question(s) regarding that scenario. I have been told however, that even when connecting storyline to an LMS, this text entry is not able to be storied, as once the user shuts down the course the information will be lost (unless there is some coding done which is beyond my capabilities). However, I was also told (by a separate party) that I could use the LMS in which the storyline course is hosted on to provide this type of assessment.

I am wondering if this will affect the user experience having content in one area then moving elsewhere for assessment or are there options within the LMS (Moodle) to make a user transition easily between areas (design the LMS to mirror the course)?

Hopefully what I'm asking makes sense.

Thank you,

Simon

Hi Simon!

If you use a Text-Entry Question, depending on your LMS, this information should absolutely show up in your reports. This article explains Text-Entry Questions.

This is different from a Text-Entry field (article here). I've had issues having THIS report to the LMS.

So, maybe the difference in these two helps clarify. Does it?

Keepin' the joy,
Patti
