Does anyone have advice for someone looking for a new laptop? My requirements are similar to many here – I develop e-learning and according to my kids - push technology to do more than it is supposed to. I think that means that I yell at my computer a lot.
I use a custom Acer Aspire and I push it harder than my IT team would ever wish. I am able to use my regular learning and high end R7D software like autocad that typically is too much together. We do a lot of virtual environments and I love it. Its very durable and the options and customer service is great. I order my computer from a small shop in Colorado but she is fantastic at custom for the sam price as what you would get for out of the box in a store. http://mousepadcoffee.net/index.php/computer-mouse

I ended up getting an Asus. It is really nice system. Little on the heavy size but I love it.
6GB RAM
64 bit operating system
Intel i5 M 480 @ 2.67GHz
@Sheila -- thanks for the links. It is nice to see what different folks have to say.
@Zara -- Nice, where did you end up buying it?
I usually buy from the dell outlet. You can often get great machines for 30-50% off and their service is hard to beat.
