Hi Nadine, you're looking for Manga illustrations by the sound of it. There are plenty available on the stock photography/imagery sites, I've listed a handful below:
Hi Nadine - you may have luck finding an inexpensive custom illustrator as well. Manga is a popular form for people to draw. If you need any suggestions, I know of at least one person.
I think the manga style is not exactly what we are looking for but more like the comic characters that you can find in storyline - but Asian and in a business casual / casual style of clothing. However I will definitely keep the links in case this is what is wanted in the end.
Are you looking for characters like the illustrated ones that are available in Storyline? I actually do illustrated characters myself. You can check out my website to see some of the ones I have.
World Learning HUB is based in Bangkok and we produce bespoke eLearning courseware for customers all over APAC. One of our main tools is the use of avatar characters and animations for scenario based 2D/3D animations embedded in Storyline courses.
We have our own team of animators and character designers. There is a library of characters available with different Asian ethnics and from different backgrounds. Adaptions to any style and the creation of new character is possible.
