Hi everyone I have been trying to figure out a way to create a Google
earth globe effect ie (globe spinning normally then click on a button
or hyperlink and then the globe spins and zooms to the correct location
where I can show a marker with a thumbnail and brief description of the
lesson. If anyone has any ideas I would appreciate it.
To re-create exactly that effect, I guess you would need a 3D model of a globe, animate the sequence in some 3D software, export it a s video and then import into Storyline. I'm not sure if there are copyright issues, but technically you can screenrecord GoogleEarth itself and import that into Storyline. See a quick example here: http://dev.keypointlearn.com/xcl71_SL/GoogleMaps/V1/story.html The animation is somewhat choppy, but that should improve if you run the sequence a few times before recording so that the map date is preloaded in the browser.
Hi Sean, Mike Enders did a great Screenr in which he used iMovie to create a moving globe and a marker with a location. You could edit the location label and then bring in the movie into your course.
