Lost with report status

Hello, 

I don't know where to find informations so I think to you.

So I try to understand the differences between the four reports status to LMS : Passed / incomplete, passed / failed, completed / incomplete, completed / failed. 

I understand each of the world but for example what it the difference between passed / incomplete and passed / failed?
