Maintaining an up-to-date library

May 03, 2012

In the past few years we have built an extensive elearning library with elearnings on everything from product, to sales, to ethics and compliance.  Where is was simple to make sure all of our elearnings were up-to-date when we only had a handful of elearnings, now that task seems impossible.  How do you and your organization ensure that your library of elearnings stay up-to-date? Does anyone have a best practice for routine maintenance?

We track all of our projects through a custom list on a SharePoint 2010 based site. I have a workflow set up so that once a project is closed, meaning the training has been deployed and people are using it, a message kicks off every 180 days to the SME or content owner asking them to review the training for relevancy and correctness. We started this about 2 years ago and it's worked pretty well for us.
