Making all of a slide/later inactive.

Apr 27, 2019

This is a feature suggestion - unless someone knows a way to do it already (apart from workarounds).

It'd be nice to have a feature where you could 'park' a slide/layer temporarily i.e. put it into a state where all the triggers on the slide are inactive and all it's links don't show up in the story view. It would help with building complex structures when we're experimenting/using different versions of layers/slides to see what works best with course navigation.

Interesting suggestion. It could be handy to turn off the visibility of a given layer the same way one can turn off the visiblity of a given object in the timeline.

In the meantime, one of the easiest workarounds is to use an extra scene that isn't accessible via the NEXT button. For example, call the extra scene "Storage." If you want a given slide out of the way for a while, move it to Storage. If you're going to play around with layers and/or programming, keep a copy (or copies) in Storage, and then test variations in the actual scene. After you've got a version of the slide working the way you want it, keep that version where it belongs. When you're sure all is well, delete the Storage scene.

BTW, I'll help the Articulate staff by noting that they have a page for submitting feature requests:
