I need to add audio to my courses. Does anyone have a good recommendation on a microphone to purchase. When I record audio, it will be at my desk and not in a professional studio. Preferably budget friendly as well. Thanks in advance.
USB mics can be awesome.... I have them, use them, and love them.
But it can be important to remind folks starting out that USB mic set ups are limited to single mic situations. Not a worry if you only do single narrator VO. But if you need to record a "conversation" between to voice actors say for a sales, coaching, or customer service scenario for example, that is a particular problem for USB mics. This is where a preamp - D/A covertor with two or more condenser mics really shines.
Back to the recommendations at hand.... Blue Yeti and Samsung C01U are great USB mics. You should love either.
@Bob S: I have the C01U and the Yeti- there is no comparison, IMO. Yeti is by far a better mic.Blue Yeti has Omni and Figure 8 polar patterns which can possible be used for multiple person scenarios, but your point is absolutely a good point.

Yes, for the price, it's hard to beat. If I were just getting started with
VO, that's what I'd get.
