I have used a slider and it stops equally between each step, as Storyline 2 intended. I want to control where the slider stops when I drag it to match my illustration, where the elements are not equally spaced. Does anyone have information on how to do this? I believe it has to do with changing the variables, but what I've tried hasn't worked yet. Thanks so much!
Have you tried adding additional steps? The number of steps in your slider doesn't have to match the number of steps on your slide. For example, if I have 3 steps on my slide, I can add 9 steps to my slider to make it slide more fluidly or, like in your case, have the steps appear at uneven intervals.
I hope that answers your question! Let me know if you have any other questions. :)
OH MY GOSH! Thank you so much. What an easy solution.
But... to add a little more to the solution...it is still a little choppy now that it has more points, is there any way to make it a little more fluid? If not, that is okay as the solution you've given me has helped tremendously.
If you're still finding it's a little choppy, I would add even more steps. For example, 3 or 4 times the number of steps that you need. The more steps there are (even if you don't actually use them) the more fluid the slider will seem. Hope that helps! :)
How can I add a feature request to be able to set the location of each of the stops by an object oriented circle in design or format mode? I want the slider to stop 3 times on the line exactly where I place the marks. Using multiple steps makes it too choppy for the user, and sometimes sizing the slider still doesn't help.
Hi Paula. Based on your description of the behaviors you'd like to see, I can see how having more slider control would be helpful. You can share your ideas directly with our dev team with a feature request and explain how it will save you time and hassle.
