If you were looking for a way to create talking avatars for your e-learning courses, you'll find that "Morfo", an app for iPhone and iPad, is a nice solution. The app if free on the Apple store for a limited period of time.
It renders a picture (previously taken or new) in 3D adding very realistic morphing effects.
The coolest thing for me is that you can record live audio or play custom audio from your device and see the avatar talk with a nice touch of lip sync. Then, the app creates a video you can send to your email, in .avi format.
The next step is to import the video into your Articulate tool and obtain a talking avatar.

Had a go with it, I now have an avatar of my six year old son, that is very spooky. My wife does not like it one bit
