Mp4 video turns blurry and grainy after using Articulate Encoder

Dec 10, 2012

Hi.

I have some mp4 video that I need to chop into smaller videos.  The video is fine until I use the Encoder and turn it into Flash.  It looks grainy and blurry once it is in my project.  Any suggestions?  I also tried cutting the mp4 video  in Windows Moviemaker and then dropping in the Encoder, but it still has very blurry quality.  Any suggestions?  Thanks!!!

This is a workaround I have found you may want to try.

Starting with a high quality MP4 source file that you've dropped into Storyline.

1. Insert the video in the project as usual.
2. Publish your project and let Storyline compress it.
3. Identify the compressed/published MP4 in the Story_Content folder.
4. Drop your high quality source .mp4 into the Story_Content folder.
5. Rename your high quality source the same as compressed/published .mp4.
6. Delete the compressed/published .mp4.

Now the published project will play the ORIGINAL video. No additional compression from Articulate!
Hope this helps,
Joe
