Multiple duplicate slide masters

Mar 07, 2011

As per Tom's advice, if I used the same background for at least 3 slides, I created a slide master in ppt to speed up publishing.  Worked great until my file got corrupted.  I had to create a new file by inserting all my previous slides in the new file.  I saved the new file and low and behold, It created about a hundred duplicates of the slidemasters.  The majority of my slides use one basic template and it created a separate slidemaster for each of my slides.  I cannot delete them.  So now, instead of speeding up publishing, it is taking longer as it has to publish each of the slide masters.  I would like to delete all the slidemasters and just copy the originals I had.  Does anyone know how to do this?  Very annoying....

Hi Alanna,  you may need to go through a little bit of a different process.

1. Create a new file.

2.  Go back to the old file, select one of the object on the screen.

3. Click the format tab and open up the Selection Pane.

4. CTRL-Click and select all the object in the Selection Pane.

5. Copy them

6.  Paste into the new file.

7.  You will need to repeat this for each slide.

It's a bit tedious but it will copy the images and the programmed animations without the background.

OR

I'm assuming you changed the layout on all the slides and dropped those into a new file.

Of course, I'm just conjecturing here.  Let me know if any of this is helpful
