Multiple input
May 08, 2017
I'm trying to build a crossword in Storyline 2. Have got it so the boxes are blank and input boxes have all the correct letters in. Have hidden "correct" and "incorrect" buttons with a trigger in place on condition that all the letters are in the right boxes. When the submit button is pressed and all the letters are in the correct places the "correct" button should become automatically selected and show the "correct" message. This is not happening, even though all the letters are in the right places... help!?!

Hi Phoebe
it will be easier for someone to help you if you can share your .story file. Just use the grey 'add attachment' button at the bottom of the post to upload your file.

Hi Phoebe
that is an internal link to your published output - what I need to look at is your source SL file the one with the .story extension.
I can see you are responding via email so any attachments won't display here in the forum - you'll need to select the 'View' option in the email to come into the forum and use the grey 'add attachment' button to upload the file.
Also, when you reply via email you email signature displays publically - you can choose to edit your post to remove it.
Hi Wendy
I hope this is the correct file type.
Thanks for the help... it's driving me crazy
Kind regards
Phoebe
Hi Phoebe
Trigger order is very important - change the order of your triggers so the 'submit interaction' trigger is last.
Hi Wendy
Thanks for your assitance on this.
Moving the trigger made it register that all the boxes were filled in, but it still says it's incorrect, when it isn't, any ideas?
Kind regards
Phoebe
Hi Phoebe
you have 54 squares on the board but there are not 54 conditions in the 'correct button' trigger - there are only 51?
Thanks

Hi Phoebe
it would be helpful to people checking the file for you if you could screenshot the puzzle completed with the correct letters - takes a long time trying to work out which rectangle matches which TE field letter.
Please find attached screenshot as requested.
Hi Phoebe
the original file with two slides was 16.8MB - the file you have uploaded is 104MB? I'm working interstate at the moment and on a limited data download...can you create a new project file and import just the crossword slide in and save it to see if it reduces the size.
Otherwise someone else may be able to chime in and help you.
Hi Wendy
Here is the crossword on its own as requested. Any help you can give would be most appreciated.
kind regards
Phoebe
Hi Phoebe
I think some of your variables may be corrupt - you can't have two variables with the same name and you have two P1 variables.
