My first published project - many hours work!

Jun 28, 2011

Well, I've finally finished my first published project. 100's of hours work!

It was for Glyndwr Uni in Wales and is designed to improve the participants enterprise skills.

It has some interesting elements - and I think some of the modules really push the boundaries.

For example, in the first module I managed to make quizmaker do a 'proper' personality test with scoring and bespoke reports!

The demo is password protected - but I think worth a look!

The password for this demo will no doubt change in the future, so - if you can't login - send an email to dan@danobrien.net and I'll send you the fresh password.

Enjoy the demo - and if you have any questions, please feel free to ask. (I learned A LOT making this)

Thanks again for your kind comments!

I wondered if it was wise to have different graphics (themes) for each module - but people seem to like it.

Only the "creativity bingo" and "paperclip challenge" were created outside of Articulate.

I've started working with Articulate again - I'm still amazed that Powerpoint doesn't keel over and die with the amount of info I have on the slides!

All the best,

Dan

Hi,

We are using articulates presenter in our web site. They are lessons given to the user.

We need to track when the user has ended reading the articulates, and how much time he spent on reading a lesson (which is basically an articulate presenter). (This articulate presenter is just a lesson, it doesn't have any quiz). We heard about SCORM to do that.
Since Articulate presenter is SCORM compliant, Can we track the user time just by implementing SCORM javascript API on the articulates? another question  should our web site that launches these arcticulates need to be SCORM compliant too?

I need help please

Daniel O'Brien

Thanks Jeffrey - I'm going to try and find time to do a video showing the quiz construction.

Always interested in new projects!

Thanks,

Dan

Hello everyone.

Just a quick update...

As you know this was my fist project made with Articulate! Anyway, it went down so well that it's now been made publicly available to all the universities in the UK!!

(It's now being hosted on a wordpress site with free registration.) See www.enterprisingyou.co.uk

This brings me to another interesting tip....

If you want to publish presenter content behind a free or paid registration system then you could consider these combinations.

They'll save many hours, £££££'s and it'll look ultra professional.

(BTW - The suggestions below are well researched and come from hours of searching and testing!!)

1. CMS  = Joomla/Wordpress

2. Regstration Module or Extension = OSE Membership ™ or S2Member

3. Design template = YooTheme or RocketTheme

Hope you find this interesting.

One more thing... someone saw my work on here and asked me to create a HUGE set of resources to be used in UK JobCentres. It was a massive project and the end result was fantastic. I'll see if I can get a public demo of it.

Thanks again for all your help, support and kind comments.

Wow very impressive work Daniel..went through the whole thing - my action plan is now complete!

Engaging and visually superb! The whole course flows so well and it's tied together perfectly!

To be honest, when I read  there was going to be 15 questions - yikes I thought! I was not looking forward to them..but you know I never enjoyed questions so much! Very well displayed and they served to pull me in deeper!

You got me at "Self Awareness:

Congrats!

Hello Daniel

I hope you are well. I am a Scot who is living and working in Brisbane Australia. I am an organisational change manager but have recently taken on some online material development as part of my current job.

After looking through your "first finished project" I am of the belief that if I spent the next 6 month working through how you created each part of this project I would learn so much more than if I try and self teach with no structure.

I realise that it is a big ask, but would be prepared to send me an editable version of your project - that is, which includes the code  and so on? This way I can try and edit it to build a project of my own while building my skills all the time?

I would be really very appreciate,

I look forward to hearing from you,

Regards

Finn
