Does anyone use narration software (TTS or other)? I have done some research and tried a few out but I want something that doesn't sound to 'computery'.
If you have access to a Mac, the VoiceOver voices can be decent as well (not the defaults, the downloads) and you can script through terminal to have text spoken to an audio file.
A real narrator costs less than $650 (given a reasonable amount of minutes) so I would consider using a real person instead of using narration software. I personally hate narration software unless I am creating narration for a robot.

Ivona voices are pretty good. Any of the better voices out there are going to cost a bit of cash. For elearning purposes, ivona studio starts at $650.

I'm with you, Nancy. I'd really only consider using it for scratch / placeholder audio.
