NVDA Screen Reader

Oct 24, 2017

Hello,

I am currently working on making our modules completely accessible. Currently, I have adjusted the module to work with screen readers, I have tested the module in Internet Explorer using JAWS and it worked as it should. However, when testing with the NVDA screen reader, the screen reader only reads the text after the timeline has finished. Does anyone have any experience with this?

Most issues I've encountered have a workaround so I'm hoping there's something I can do to make this work.

I can see the yellow box around the content, but the screen reader doesn't say anything. Once the timeline finishes, tabbing around allows the screen reader to read the content. The slides do have narration so I cannot get rid of the timeline completely.

Hi Jessi,

Any tips on designing Storyline courses to work with JAWS? My published courses have narration that start automatically when the user clicks next. I find the screen reader directly competes with the recorded audio. What are some best practices for designing courses in a way to play nicely with JAWS? I appreciate any input you might have.

Thanks, Lindsay
