Pick Many quiz: immediate feedback options
Aug 14, 2019
Hi!
I would like to ask if any of you has had this type of issue: I would like to be able to change the states of the answer options on a Pick Many type of quiz to indicate right/wrong answer after the user clicks the Submit button. E.g.: the correct responses' boxes turn green and the wrong ones turn red. So far it seems to me that the submit button has some innate function to automatically switch from the current slide to the next one or the feedback layer, which prevents me from displaying changed states after hitting Submit.

Hi Alexandra
you can change the option to feedback by none - which will remove the correct/incorrect layers and allow your custom states to show. Would that work?
Unfortunatelly, it doesn't make any difference - I tried it already.
Do you want to share the .story file or just that slide and I'll take a look for you
I'd love to, but I deleted the slide and replaced it with a more generic feedback one. I can try to recreate it when I get back to this project.
I would mislead the user by using a custom button with 2 states.
Have the initial state labeled as "submit" but don't actually submit the question; just evaluate it and change your states. Also change the state of the button to say something like "proceed" the first time the user clicks it. Once they've reviewed their results and click the "proceed button", trigger the "submit interaction" functionality.
Thanks, Owen! That sounds like a solution, since the built-in Submit button seems to be the issue with this not working.
Let me know how it goes. You can also reach me on LinkedIn.
It does work now :) Thanks a lot!
