Is there any way, using 2007 to get a "pendulum" effect - i.e.animate an object so that it moves, (for example), from left to right at the one end, whilst remaining as a fixed "pivot point" at the other?
I think not, however, Heroes eat "that's impossible" for breakfast.
Step two: Duplicate your object, Click "rotate:flip verticle"
Step three: Arange object so that it is the mirror of your origional image
Step four: Make the duplicated object transparent
Step five: Group both objects together
Step six: Choose animation "spin" change to "clockwise 60 degrees" (or tweek to how far you want the pendulum to swing). Then "counterclockwise 120degrees (or double whatever your clockwise was)" Then "clockwise 120 degrees. Repeat until you want it to be "done swinging" at which point you should use 60 degrees again to return to the middle.
I must admit it has been a real challenge dreaming up methods to create Flash like animations in Power Point and the only limiting factor is your imagination.
@Osman, the gif to swf converter that Jeanette mentions above should work. When you import the converted swf into your presentation, you will need to set the Synchronization option to "Movie plays independently of slide". Otherwise, it won't work as expected.

I've used this same technique for a clock.
I'm pretty sure your clock technique was the inspiration for my pendulum example!

Bruce, another thing you could do is create an animated GIF which may actually be a lot cleaner than a Power Point Effect.

@osman I believe you have to use a program to convert it to a movie and insert it. Heroes correct me if I'm wrong...
Seem to remember that AP09 does not support these - but I may be mistaken...

True about Presenter not supporting animated gifs. But you could try this tool to convert to swf and then insert it.
thanks Jeanette, but that way the animation will only play once and not on a loop. Is there anyway to make it loop using a swf file?
