I've looked for this as well and haven't been able to find anything. If you are using PPT 2010 though there is the new Animation Painter, so all you'd need to do is set up the animation once and then use that to "copy" to any other place throughout the presentation (similar to format painter)
Thanks Blair - good call - I do use that from time to time but haven't got into the habit yet of using it all the time. I'll have to try to do all the animations at once, then that will work (I usually do it as I complete a slide - I like seeing how slides will look immediately - I will try to exercise patience!)
