Problems with Storyline Assessment
Jan 29, 2021
Hi I am hoping someone can help me with this.
I have two problems.
1. All the multiple choice questions in my assessment are making me choose all answers instead of the correct answers for me to advance to the next questions.
2. When I do complete the assessment I fail because of the incorrect multiple choice questions.
3. Lastly, I want to pull the pass/fail information into a report that would pull the information from our LMS. Can you see anything wrong with what I in my variables or in the SCORM setting that would cause problems with reporting?
Thank you,
Carrie Bearss

Hi Carrie,
I downloaded your course and went through it. I was able to select just the two or three answers required and advance to the next question each time a multiple response question was asked. None of them required me to select all answers to advance.
As far as reporting goes, everything looks fine to me, but I think it would depend on what your LMS is capable of. Most can pull the information straight from the results slide. For example, in my LMS I can set a minimum score when uploading the course and it will pull from the results slide of Storyline and mark on their transcript properly. Don't know if that will help you or not.
I'm not sure why the answers are not working for you - they worked just fine for me. Hope you can figure it out.
Thank you for the help.
I have more questions.
1. how to I set it so it only has one attempt without a try again button?
On your results slide, under the design tab, there is an option to have a retry button. It doesn't look like you have it set that way. Then when you upload to your LMS, just make sure settings are put to not allow multiple attempts. That's controlled in my LMS in addition to removing the button on the results screen.
I only want the learn to do the assessment once, do I need a retry button?
No - if you only want it once, then do not add the retry button.
Ok I don't have one so it should only run once and it is not so it must be something on the LMS side that is not working correctly.
