Progress bar / Question counter

Jun 06, 2018

Hi,

I created a test with more than 30 questions by using a question bank and showing the questions in random order each time.  Is there a way to show at each question something like a progress bar or a question counter to know how many questions are left?

Thank you,

Hi Marquita!

Here's a template that does just that: https://community.articulate.com/download/storyline360-question-bank

It uses variables and triggers to achieve that effect. Basically, you need to:

  1. Create a trigger to count what question # the learner is on
  2. Add a trigger to the slide master that you're using for your questions that adds 1 to that variable when the timeline starts (see screenshot)
  3. Add that trigger reference (%TRIGGERNAME% to the slide followed by a slash and then the total number of questions.
  4. If learners can take the quiz multiple times, add a trigger to the retry button to reset the variable to 0 when learners click on it.

I hope that makes sense! Let me know if you have any questions.
