Pubbing - Seekbar - New Mobile Player for iOS and Android

Apr 17, 2015

Requesting solutions to the following issues:

Pubbing: Every time I launch Storyline for the first time and attempt to pub a SCORM format file, that window hangs up and doesn't resolve so I end up have to force quit the entire program and relaunch it.

Seekbar: When used, it adds about 20-30 minutes of black to the video despite the fact that the video is edited appropriately.

New iOS and Android Mobile Player feature: (refer to attached)When utilized, the course does not get tracked to our LMS and it used to in the past.

Thanks

Hi Gem:

What version of Storyline are you using?

What brand/model is your LMS?

Have you checked the video was not previously uploaded, then deleted, then replaced with a shorter version?

If this was the case, you would have more time on the slide timeline than the video requires since the video was shortened and the timeline of the slide may not have been.

The Publish window may be hanging up because you are trying to publish to a network drive, ALWAYS ensure you are working from a local drive on your computer and also ensure you have appropriate security rights to the file location you are using.

I'll be happy to assist if you can provide me the answers to the questions above.

Best Regards,

This sounds like a bug since it was a reuploaded, shortened video. Funny thing is, it actually retrofitted the newly shortenend edited video to span the older longer timeline and played out as if it wasn't shortened at all - even thought it was by 30 minutes.

Hi Gem:

This does not mean there is a bug.

Extract from my previous response: "Have you checked the video was not previously uploaded, then deleted, then replaced with a shorter version? Your shortened video WILL span the length of the timeline. Just shorten your timeline and the video will shorten. Also, if you are seeing this issue on your LMS and not will running the course locally for test it is normal. One of the jobs of an LMS is to maintain your session information (which means anyone who has previously launched the course will not see changes). Chances are you are not seeing the new version of your course.
