I'm new and puzzled. A vendor created training for us with a tight timeline, and I've had to revise many slides. When I publish to Word, the slide image is correct but the words below it are not updated. What do I need to do differently?
Hi Nancy. Are you working with Articulate Studio or Storyline? If you're working with Storyline, does the text that won't change have the word "Notes" just above it?
Trina - Thanks for the response. Storyline 2. Yes, its Notes. I have been playing around and see that if I copy/paste, I can update the notes, but is this the only way to get the notes updated? Maybe I've misunderstood the meaning for notes. The vendor put the notes in as a form of transcription for Section 508 compliance, but I'm thinking that it's not necessary if the screen reader will read all the content in the slides. What are the notes for?

Hi again. Thanks for clarifying which software you're using. The Notes pane in Storyline has many different uses, but the most typical is as a place to keep a transcript of the course so that, when the Notes feature is turned on in the course player, a learner can opt to read the transcript. A lot of folks simply use the Notes pane as a place to organize their design ideas and keep track of things needed during the development of the course and those notes are usually deleted before the course is finalized.
You can edit or remove the text in the notes pane by clicking on the Notes tab as pictured below.
If you choose to remove the text from here, it will no longer appear in Word doc output, nor will it appear in your course. If a transcript is unnecessary, you can easily remove the Notes pane from the course player. Here's a quick walk-thru of the steps for customizing the course player.
If you decide to keep the transcript, the screen reader can read the Notes pane as well as onscreen text. You can read more about how this works, here.
