Publishing an Articulate Presentation

Nov 20, 2012

I am having a hard time publishing an articulate presentation if I want to publish outside of my company's LMS.

Local IT cannot figure out where I can publish and paying monthly for a domain in articulate online is too expensive for me at this time.  Can anyone suggest an easy way of publishing an Articulate presentation to a regular website, Sharepoint, etc?  Please, be thorough.  Draw me some pictures or screen captures.  I'm not a tech expert.

hi Adelissa, and welcome ! If you plan to host your courses somewhere other than an LMS, you should ask your IT people whether your organization has a web server you can use to host the content. (make sure it is a web server and not just a netowrk). Then what you will need to do is publish your course for WEB. (meaning, when you click Publish, make sure you choose WEB for your publishing option). Here is a tutorial that shows how to publish for WEB from Articulate PResenter: http://community.articulate.com/tutorials/products/publishing-a-presentation-for-the-web.aspx

You'll notice there is a field on the Publish window where you can choose the location where you want to create your published output - make sure to choose a local place on your hard drive (like someplace on your C drive).  Then go ahead and publish. Once your output is published to your hard drive, the next step is to move it to your web server. Your IT person should be able to help you with this if you are not sure how. (in fact they might even prefer to do it for you.) Once your published course is on the web server, you just need to send your learners a link to the player.html file, and that will launch the course for them.
