Quality of Screencasts, Screenshots
Apr 25, 2014
Hi everyone,
I'm sure questions like this get asked all the time, but I couldn't find an answer using the search forum. My general question is whether the quality of the display of the computer you are using affects the quality of any screencasts or screenshots you may take. I sorta think that there are other factors that are more important for screencasts (e.g., recording at same resolution and aspect ratio that the presentation will ultimately be viewed in), but I was wondering whether there are hardware considerations that would affect the quality (especially of screenshots). Any other general considerations to keep in mind? Thanks.
Joe

The display of your computer does not affect the quality of your screencast.
The only consideration would be that your system shouldn't be too slow to avoid delays in using the software you want to show.
HI,
Thanks. I had a feeling that a would be the case. What about with screenshots. Would that make a difference?
Important is only your machine. The display has no impact on the screenshot.
@Joseph, I had the same questions & problem and actually still do. This is what someone recommended additional tutorials here on how to add screen recordings
I ended up resorting to static images and created the effect of screen recording. I hope this helps a bit. If you do find a solution, please let me know.

If using Storyline or Studio and publishing...
Keep in mind that when the files get published they are compressed and this affects the quality. When using storyline or studio you can replace the video from the content folder to increase the quality of the video.
