I am creating a learning game. I have questions set up using question banks. When I preview the project (I have 30 questions) I see that I often have repeat questions appear. Is there a way I can stop these from repeating?
Unfortunately no. Cannot share, sorry. I did, however, recently see a project that was a game with question banks and random questions. It was a rocket game theme if that rings a bell.
That project doesn't ring a bell, but did it do the same thing for you? If so, a link to where you found it would help us track it down and confirm the behavior. I know with Storyline 2 there was a different behavior from Flash to HTML5 in terms of how the questions would randomize and that was something our team fixed in Storyline 360 to make the behavior match across Flash and HTML5. What version of Storyline are you using?
Sorry, I am coming to the party a bit late, but I was challenged with a similar situation for some exams that I was working on. I ended up creating multiple question banks that consisted of questions that queried the same learning points, but the questions varied, sometimes by verbiage only, sometimes by type, etc.
I then used a different question bank for each query. Tedious, but very effective.
Most of our courses have fairly technical content for technical people, presenting different questions against the same learning objectives is just another method of extending and reinforcing the learning...

Do you have repeats within one question bank?
Yes, that is correct
Hi John,
Do you have a .story file that we could take a look at? You can share it here in the ELH forums or send it along to our Support Engineers here.

Thank you
I select random draw for each question within my 1 question bank.

I have tried unsuccessfully to find that other persons issue. Too bad....It was exactly the same issue!
Hey John,
Can you replicate the behavior in a sample/dummy course so that I can get a better idea of what you're seeing/looking at?

Not late at all Gordon - and glad you found a solution that works for you.
