Quizmaker and Learndash or Woo Sensei integration

May 05, 2014

I'm looking at using either Learndash or Woo Sensei as a LMS solution, but replacing their default quiz engines with content generated by Articulate Quizmaker instead. (I have many, many more quiz options open to me if I do that).

What I'm not clear on is whether either Learndash or Woo Sensei would then be able to track results for the user, given that it's not their own quiz system.

Does anyone have experience in using Quizmaker in this way, and can confirm whether its output can integrate into result tracking like this?

Hi Philip,

I wouldn't call any of these LMS's per se, they are more like script addons to be honest. In any case, what you need to be able to track results is for Learndash or Woo Sensei to support either SCORM or Tin Can version 1.0  - just like Quizmaker does.

Note : If you are on Quizmaker 09, then SCORM is your only option.

Hope this helps,

Learndash uses the Grassblade xAPI companion. You can use this setup to connect to an LRS like WaxLRS from Saltbox. The folks that make Grassblade are working on their own LRS product. This will track the user's score as well as their answers. As Phil suggests, you'd use WaxLRS reporting / analytics or use the Grassblade reports within the Wordpress dashboard.

One caution. There's a problem currently with Quizmaker xAPI output that's echoing something that'll be rejected by strict LRS. WaxLRS, for example, will reject Quizmaker output. To get around this using Learndash and Grassblade, leave the activityID blank in the xAPI object configuration. Works like a charm once that's done.

Woo Sensei doesn't give you this type of tracking, as far as I know.
