Random Learner Course Freezing on LMS

Jan 23, 2018

Hi there,

I'm having some issues with a course which is freezing for some users around the same area of a Storyline course.  The LMS I am using is Talent LMS.

I understand Storyline loads content ahead & the section in question has a short MP4 video, a short piece of audio imported off the internet, & Gif flash animation as well as typical Storyline generated content.  While the majority of users can complete the course without any difficulties, 2 users so far have had an issue with content freezing & they are unable to complete the course.  I have checked their operating systems etc & all are compatible with Storyline viewed on windows.

One commonality is that they have tried to complete the course on a previous occasion, one failed & one didn't complete within the allocated time period allowed.  They then tried to retake the course or re-register to take the course.

When I log in as one of the users from my desktop I can't proceed either past the slide they are stuck on which is close to the end of the course.  The content which should be on the slide hasn't loaded & there is no buffering icon even.

Would I be right in thinking that there is an LMS issue rather than a local network/firewall issue as I can't resume the course as the user either from my own computer?

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

David

Hi there is a suspend data limit in SCORM version 1.2 which is not particularly large.  If you have lots of animations, graphics, objects, audio etc. this contributes to the suspend data allocation for the course.  Once it is reached, issues such as you are experiencing can happen.. Try reducing the size of the course, or try publishing in SCORM 2004 Edition 3.
