Reporting on a checklist

Aug 08, 2022

Hi,

I'm creating a course with a checklist of onboarding tasks that new hires need to perform, such as "set up your email signature" or "add your telephone number to your profile." Does anyone have any guidance on how to set this up as a checklist that can be reported on from the LMS so I know which tasks are still outstanding? I'm using Storyline 360 and Rise. Thanks for any help!!

How many checklist items?  Does your LMS report survey question results?  You could use a little JavaScript in a Storyline file to create an array of checked off items, store the array in a single text variable in StoryLine, and then use that Storyline variable to answer a "ghost survey" question that the user doesn't actually see, but that will be sent to the LMS.

Hi Owen,

Thanks for your reply. There are about 25 checklist items, and I’m not sure if our LMS reports on survey question results. I’m pretty rusty at using Articulate tools so I’m doing a little re-learning, and I unfortunately know next to nothing about JavaScript. I may have found something that may work but I’ll save your suggestion and take it as an opportunity to learn more.

Thanks!

Hi Greg! It looks like your email signature came through when you replied via email. You may want to pop in and click edit to remove any personal information you don't want to share with the community.

Also, to go along with what Owen said, to track results you'll need an LMS. If you have an LMS administrator or someone who is familiar with the LMS you're using, they might be able to help answer questions about reporting. There was also another discussion posted the other day that talks about something similar that might work for you. Worth checking out. I hope that helps!
