Reset Multiple Choice when user selects Try Again

Jun 25, 2019

I have a template  for Multiple Choice questions

All is good with layers etc. ... If they select Try Again the layer  takes them back to the question... But it does not clear their previous selection i.e. it does not reset the question.

I have been told to update the Try Again message to tell the user to deselect their choices and then select the correct answers.

This is fine but not slick -  I am sure there is a trigger that can be used ....... There is a Reset quiz but I just want to rest the question...... Can anyone help me please?

Hi Mondy!

One way to do this is to edit the trigger on the Try Again layer to "Jump to" the question slide (the slide with the multiple choice question)...rather than "Hide Layer." Then, on the Slide Properties for that question, set it to "Reset to Initial State." When a learner gets to the Try Again layer, when they click on the Try Again button, it will jump back to the question slide...and the question slide will reset.

The only drawback to this is that you will lose the restricted number of retries. If you need to limit the number of attempts, you can achieve this with variables.

I hope that answers your questions! Let us know if you have additional questions.
