I want to personalise a module. Not sure if this will make sense but after a user logs on to the LMS (and launches the course), is it possible to retrieve that user's name and insert it into the slides?
Storyline can't retrieve a name from an LMS. I don't have the expertise to say whether or not that'd be possible with JavaScript.
However, with Storyline, you can have the person type their name in a text-entry field and then have the program insert their name later in the course, as desired.
The text typed into a text-entry field is automatically put into an associated variable.
Storyline will display the value of a variable wherever you type the variable's name surrounded by percentage marks (e.g.,: %myvariable%).
Hi Charlie! Jodie's text-entry field idea is a great option. I just wanted to chime in and share this free download showcasing that feature in case you want to take a look.

JavaScript will work but you need to know a bit more about your LMS.

Thank you all for your input. I'll look into Owen's tip first then decide from there.
